Dangerous mobs!

Doing some experimenting with the /summon command, I have been thinking of adding special mobs into Living Darkness. I don’t want to spoil what kinds of mobs, but maybe you might be seeing some giants riding on ghasts… Just sayin’

A couple updates

Ok, so in this update, I have two things to share. First off, I have now made a twitter. If you want an easier way to get these blog updates, make sure to go and follow me (@linkruler). Secondly, I have been thinking, and I am making the zombie mines even bigger. You first go and explore a laboratory, then you go into the ore refinery. That’s all for this update. Stay tuned.

New feature announced!

Ok so this is about the wooden fortress in Living Darkness. Do you remember the room that required rotten flesh to proceed? Well, I have decided to implement that type of style to proceed to various rooms to access them. Instead of one room to the next, you will get multiple choices, like a CoD zombies map. To make it into special rooms with extra gear and mystery boxes, you will need to find rooms with special mobs that are stronger and give you a different drop to proceed.

More info on Living Darkness

Ok! Killerpenguin and I have really gotten into working on Living Darkness. We have been talking, and we have formed some ideas for the map. For one, we are keeping the progression the same as a pre-level and a stronghold, but instead of going from one level to another, you can free-roam around the city to choose what level you do first, as such a game like mega-man. You have to start off with the first half of the level one pre-level, but after that, you can plan what you’re going to do inside your safe house. The only level you cannot go to from the beginning is the temple, which is the final stage. Making this change, you will find yourself exploring every nook and cranny for extra gear to fight the zombies easier. There will even be hidden journal entries from various people that will set the mood even deeper. Stay tuned for more soon!

Slowed

Well, as you know, my computer has been having problems. Also added in, I am very busy with educational classes as well as extra-curricular things. I find myself to not work on Living Darkness as much. I know it makes things sound grim, but once I get some help in and can free up some more time, my production of Living Darkness will be in full swing. Stay tuned.

I’m Back!

Hey everyone, it’s linkruler! Today, I have finally begun making custom maps again! I am currently working on a brand new version of ¬†Living Darkness, in which everything is restarted from scratch. I’m sorry, but I’m very busy IRL so I’m not going to have as much time to work on it as 8-bit Adventure. I plan to have more information about the map up exclusively in the map’s blog page. Stay tuned!

My plans

Ok, so it has been a while since I’ve posted anything, so I’ve decided I would tell you all what my plans are for my mapmaking career. So first off, about the maps. 8-bit adventure’s biggest update has been out for a while now. For those who aren’t interested in playing the map until they see a video of an LP, good news. Talking with the youtuber, CthulhuToo, he said he plans on putting up his first part of a LP to youtube, so I plan to put it on the forums for your viewing pleasure (make sure to check out his channel and possibly subscribe if you find it in your best interest.) around tomorrow/tuesday. Next, I will talk about Living Darkness. So currently, I have been taking a break with mapmaking, since I worked hard on 8-bit adventure for a couple months. I do not plan on working on Living Darkness yet, but I will get to why soon. So for the map, I plan to give it a remodel and use the best of my skills I have learned while making 8-bit adventure. I will also finish making the last three levels. For those waiting for Claustrophobia, I have some bad news. Currently, I am postponing its production further until I completely finish making Living Darkness. Also, I may make a sequel to 8-bit Adventure, but I do not plan to until I get enough votes on the poll for 8-bit Adventure to make it (also considering I will be very busy with the other two maps for a bit…)

Now I’m sure you’re wondering why I have not started working on Living Darkness yet. I have a very good reason that could mean some good news. Currently, I am saving up for a new computer. I found a good one that will help me run minecraft smoother, and am only a $100 or 2 away from buying it. I currently am trying hard to get it, and if you would like to help, try to help me get more downloads on 8-bit Adventure. I would especially appreciate it if you could start replying to its thread to help push it up in the maps section of the forum so newer people can find it easier.

So that was quite a mouthful, but you all are now updated on what is going on in the works of linkruler. One last thing is to let you all know I might start up a youtube channel once I get the new computer, so stay tuned for more information. And with that, until next time!

It’s Finally Out!

Well as the title implies, I have released the update for 8-bit adventure today! I haven’t put much description about the new update on the blog, so if you want extra details then head over to its minecraft forum post. I hope you guys can help publicize it so I can be able to replace my broken computer parts and continue on my mapmaking career (and if my luck goes well even youtuber career). I hope to be working with you all again soon!

Almost there!

Hello viewers! Today, I am posting this for a number of reasons. My first reason is that I have not posted in about a month, so I wanted to let you all know I haven’t given up working on my custom maps. My second reason is to notify you all I am close to releasing the new update for 8-bit adventure. I have just finished constructing the fifth level of the bonus half of the map, so I only have a little bit more to create before I release the map. I also still have to use some mcedit magic to add in some special enemies and mob drops. I can easily say that as of within a week of this post, the long awaited update of 8-bit adventure will be viral for everyone to try out. I really hope everyone will enjoy this because I have been at three long months of work on this single update. I have had some hard and fun times building this map, but as of this post, my computer is about to give up on me. I ask that those of you brave enough to step up will and try to help get the word out so I can be able to get my computer fixed up or replaced. I have a couple more ideas for custom maps, and I’m sure they’ll keep coming, so if I can get help from the audience out there that enjoy my current maps, you’ll be able to see more of my work. I’m sure I’ve blabbed long enough, so until my next post informing you on the release of the map, this is linkruler, signing off.

P.S. When the map releases, make sure to check out the pawn shop to be able to find a special room.

Multiple endings?

Ok. I am hard at work at this map, first off. I am making this innovation of 8-bit Adventure the best update I can ever give it. To achieve this, I am increasing the replay value to make you try to complete all four endings (three if you aren’t on hard mode). I am adding a hidden ending that will become hard for the player to find. I have to work really hard to make this happen, and I’ve decided to stop giving release dates that are unpromising and just work on it. I hope you all understand, and I hope you can wait the extra weeks to get the best experience I can offer with my ability. Remember that this is really hard for me, since I am a team of one and are still a teenager, so I’m sure you wouldn’t even end up recognizing that from the work put into this map. I’ll have more to say soon.
